About Me
My name is Sophie, and I am twenty two years old. I'm currently a student in Scotland. I often write or type down ideas, or phrases, or even visuals that come to my mind throughout the day. Sometimes these stand out to me so much that I commit myself to complete them.
This blog is where I intend to post my work; please feel free to read as you like and leave any comments.
Education
2017 - 2018
Dundee and Angus College
After leaving school, I studied two more SQA Highers and a National 5 grade at Arbroath College. Whilst this wasn't my first or even seventh choice of what to do once my sixth year at school was over, I appreciate the next steps of freedom and maturity this year taught me.
2018 - 2019
City of Glasgow College
After studying at my first year in college, and a 2nd failed attempt at getting into University, I finally moved away from home and started to study something I'm fully interested in. By being given the opportunity to explore my own writing abilities and other forms of writing in media, I had started to feel like I could begin my career.
2019 - 2023
University of Dundee
Finally, I had managed to get offers and eventually a place at university! The diversity of subjects and the independence in learning has made the start of my further education wonderful, and I am excited for everything else it has to bring.
2022 update; I am deathly bored of uni.
Groups
2019 - 2021
Fibre | DUSA Media
In my first year of university, I had joined a brand new online media and journalism team, Fibre. Within the group I was the Creative Writing Section Editor where I supply the Manager and Deputy with either my own or other people's creative work.
2022 update; I'm pretty sure this has disbanded now, haven't had an update from them in a while.
Publications
Independently Published | 2020
To Hell in a Flash
During my year at The City of Glasgow College, I took part in a group project to create horror flash fiction stories to eventually publish. I also worked with illustration students at the college and me peers to complete the book.
